Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026 has ended, but the October sale produced several worthwhile deals on cameras, lenses, computers, storage, drones, and video gear.
I tracked the event throughout October 6–7, comparing sale prices with recent pricing history and focusing on products that offered genuine value rather than simply the largest advertised discount.
This page now serves as a Prime Big Deal Days 2026 sale recap, documenting some of the strongest photography and video deals from the event and the prices they reached.
For current camera and photography gear recommendations, see my other photography buying guides:
What Is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days?
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon's fall shopping event for Prime members, typically featuring discounts across electronics, computers, home products, and other categories.
For photographers, the event can be particularly interesting because cameras, lenses, memory cards, SSDs, hard drives, drones, and video equipment are often included.
The October 2026 event took place October 6–7. The deals documented below are from that event and are preserved as a historical pricing reference.
What Photography Gear Is Usually Worth Buying?
Not every Prime Big Deal Days discount is worth buying. I'm focusing on cameras, lenses, computers, storage, drones, and creator gear where the sale price represented genuine value based on historical pricing, product age, and real-world performance.
Cameras: Previous-generation mirrorless bodies can offer particularly strong value.
Lenses: Professional zooms and fast primes are often worth watching because good lenses can remain useful across multiple camera upgrades.
Storage: Memory cards, SSDs and external hard drives frequently see meaningful discounts.
Drones: Compact drones can offer strong value, especially models with capable cameras, sub-250g weight, and useful accessories.
Video & Creator Gear: Video gear can also be worth watching during Prime Big Deal Days, particularly for creators and hybrid shooters.
How to Tell if a Prime Big Deal Days Discount Is Actually Good
Amazon's advertised discount isn't necessarily the most useful number when evaluating a Prime Big Deal Days offer.
A product marked "40% off" may have been selling near the same price for weeks.
Before buying, compare the current price with its recent price history using tools such as Keepa or CamelCamelCamel.
A genuine deal isn't necessarily the product with the largest percentage discount. A $200 discount on a $2,000 camera may be more meaningful than 50% off an accessory you didn't need in the first place.
I care more about the actual price, historical pricing, product age, performance, and whether the gear solves a real problem than Amazon's advertised discount percentage.

Sale Verdict: Excellent deal. At $3,296.95, the Nikon Z8 was more than $1,000 below its $4,299.95 list price, making it a compelling price for one of Nikon's most capable full-frame cameras. Its 45.7MP stacked sensor, fast autofocus, 20fps RAW shooting, and advanced video capabilities make it an exceptionally versatile high-resolution hybrid. This was one of the strongest high-end camera deals in the sale and appeared to be a new Amazon low.

Sony, Canon, Nikon, DJI, GoPro, Sigma, Tamron, SanDisk, Lexar, Samsung, and other major photography brands have products discounted during Prime Big Deal Days events.
Are camera bodies or lenses a better buy?

Should I wait for Black Friday instead?
Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday can both produce worthwhile camera and photography deals. Prime Big Deal Days can be particularly useful for previous-generation cameras, storage, accessories, and certain lenses, while Black Friday may bring additional discounts or bundles on cameras and lenses.
